Chichester Half Marathon – 6 October 2019

NOTICE is hereby given that not less fourteen days from the date of this Notice West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along the following lengths of roads:-

Westgate –from Sherborne Road roundabout to Westgate roundabout
Avenue de Chartres – from the A259 roundabout to Westgate roundabout
Orchard Street – from Northgate roundabout to Westgate roundabout
West Street – from Westgate roundabout to South Street
Chapel Street from The Woolstaplers to West Street
South Street – from West Pallant to North Street
East Street – from Market Cross to East Walls
East Walls – the entire length
Priory Raod – from New Park Road to Priory Lane
Oaklands Way – from Northgate gyratory to New Park Road roundabout
Sherborne Road – from Westgate Road roundabout to Cathedral Way
New Road (Lavant Straight) westbound – from Goodwood Motor Circuit emergency access to Lower Road

The Order is necessary to facilitate the holding of the Chichester Half Marathon 2019.

The above-mentioned roads form the route to be taken by the competitors and will be closed for short periods of time on a rolling basis, starting with Westgate.

Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads will be maintained.

The Order will be operative on 6th October 2019 from 0845 hours to 1230 hours.

The police will advise drivers of suitable alternative routes where necessary.
